Disjunct, Disjunction

Two tetrachords whose extreme tones are separated by an intervening interval are termed disjunct. The separation is called the disjunction.

In Greek music theory the disjunction is a 9/8 whole tone, but in Schlesinger's Harmoniai, different sized disjunctive tones occur.
