saturated

a chord to which no note may be added without increasing the chord's odd limit is said to be saturated.

For example, the four saturated 9-limit chords are:

• the complete 9-limit Otonality
• the complete 9-limit Utonality
• 12:15:18:20, and
• 14:18:21:24.
