semi-tempered

Tetrachords consisting of both rational and irrational (tempered) intervals may be called semi-tempered.

Examples are the tempered divisions of the 4/3 and lesser intervals such as the 256/243 and 9/8 (see Chapter IV of Divisions of the Tetrachord) .

Semi-tempered tetrachords are very closely related conceptually to unequal or linear temperaments like meantone.
