Subharmonic

The Subharmonic series is the inverse of the Harmonic series and consists of integral submultiples of a number taken as unity.

The Harmonic mean between two tones lies in a subharmonic series with them.

When applied to chords, it indicates that the chords are sections of a subharmonic series.
