Sonnet 18

Text adapted from Shakespeare, Sonnet 18 Music © 1979 by Joe Monzo

Shall I compare my love to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May
And summer's lease hath all too short a date.

And every fair from fair sometimes declines
By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed.

But thy eternal summer shall not fade
As long as men can breathe and eyes can see.
