Tetrachord beginning a
whole tone
above Mese
in the P.I.S.

The name describes the fact that the lowest note of this
tetrachord (paramese) was separated by a
tone
from the highest note (mese) of the next
tetrachord (meson)
below it (in comparision with the tetrachord
synemmenon,
which was not separated).
