In music, the simultaneous occurence in two or more voices of the same pitch. The voices are said to be 'in unison'.
The ratio between the frequencies of a unison is 1:1 [= 0 cents].
"Unison" is also used as a description of the interval having a ratio of approximately 1:1, and in this sense is synonymous with "prime".
